08.01.2011 -- Sunday, September 25, 2011 is STUDY UP! - First Annual Horse Judging Contest at WildRose Horse Farm to Benefit "Healing With Horses" from 11:00am to 4:00pm.Test your knowledge of The Horse. First Place- One Hour Riding Lesson Free, Second Place - Half Hour Riding Lesson Free, Third Place- $25.00 Gift Certificate, Fourth Place, $10.00 Gift Certificate. Arrive at 11:00 am Hors d'oeuvres served at noon With Coffee and Bake Sale. There will be A Basket Raffle at this Event. Judging Begins at 1:00 pm Admission and Entry Fees $10.00 pp Entry fee NOT JUDGING, $20.00, Judging Fee Single Contestant, $50.00 Judging Fee for Team of 2 to 5. Bring your on paper, pencils and writing surfaces! All proceeds benefit Therapeutic Riding through the "Healing WIth Horses" Riding Center a 501(c)3 Non Profit Charity.Funds go to our Saviors for Survivors Programs to Help Our Veterans suffering from PTSD,TBI,TRAUMA and DEPRESSION. This event is Facilitated by Harly Hewlitt.

    06.12.2011 -- REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER HORSE CAMP BEGINS NOW. KRE8IVE HORSE KAMP BEGINS JULY 12 THROUGH AUGUST 30, 2011. Summer horse camp called "Kre8ive Horse Kamp" begins after July 4th weekend every Tuesday. First Day of horse Camp is July 12,2011. Camp runs from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. rain or shine @ $50.00 for 3 hours. If you have a child age 9 to 17 and want your child to attend call immediately to sign up. If your child has limited experience with horses we strongly suggest at least 8 to 10 hours of riding lessons. These spots go quickly.

    06.06.2011 -- EQUINE COMMUNICATION CLASSES 2011...Have you ever wondered what horses are thinking? We are running a Special here at "Healing With Horses" only for the month of June. This special price ends the last Thursday of JUNE.
    We can teach you what horses are saying to each other just by their body language, position of ears, and the way they move. Learning body language of the horse is imperative to bonding with a horse and is helpful when riding and taking lessons. Horse Interaction, Bonding, Communication, Observation and Grooming. Learn skills working with the horse through their sedient nature. This course gives one the understanding of horse psychology and behavior. This is a unique one hour class every thursday from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm . With a low price of $30.00 per class. Contact Lee or Shari for enrollment at (860) 912-1557 for this Unique Experience.

    06.06.2011 -- October 23,2011...HALLOWEEN PARTY FUNDRAISER - On SUNDAY OCTOBER 23, 2011 WildRose Horse Farm will hold a Halloween Fundraiser with all proceeds to Benefit "Healing With Horses". The benefit will take place from 3:30 to 7:30. There will be a costume contest(Wear Your Best Costume) Hanging Apple Bobbing, Scaraoke, Hay rides, Haunted Maze, Pumpkin Coloring Contest, Bake Sale, Candy and more. Winners of the Best Costume contest will win prizes. Minimum donation of $10.00 paid upon entrance. All ages welcome! Rain (Bring your Umbrella) or Shine!

    *** PLEASE TAKE NOTICE ***Sandals and Flip-Flops are forbidden AROUND OR RIDING HORSES. Please be prepared bring sneakers or boots. There is a weight limit of 185 lbs for horses and 50 lbs for ponies

    06.06.2011 -- OUR HORSES NEED YOU! We have a program called "Equine Angel Advocate" Sponsor a horse for "our" rescue horses. Our horses at Healing With Horses are rescues and need your help to provide therapy to people with disabilities. This program will help the horses sponsored with hay and grain through the months. It also includes Vetting, Emergencies, Farrier and Medications. You will be kept updated with photos, news letters and visitation is encouraged for any horses you sponsor. For $55.00 a month you can sponsor your favorite horse. Call Shari or Becca for more information.

    06.06.2011 -- SAFETY AND CERTIFICATION CLASSES. We are continuing to offer our "Safety and Certification" programs to all volunteers here at WildRose Horse Farm, "Healing with Horses". Next Certification and Safety Classes every Thursday July 8 through July 29, 2011 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Learn emergency techiniques, Equine First Aid, Basic Aids for Riding, Breeds, Safety around Horses, Instructor, Leader and Side Walker techniques. Therapeutic Riding Basics and Much More. Testing and Certification. Classes are $30.00 for one hour. Call now to schedule at (860) 912-1557. Classes fill quickly.

    06.06.2011 -- We are in need of staff volunteers for an Occupational Therapist to help design "Individual Needs Programs". We are looking for Therapists to volunteer for about one hour a month to meet with our on staff Physician, Nurses and Licenced Clinical Social Worker. Between Our Certified Instructors and Licensed Clinical Social Worker Special programs are facilitated for each participant which is pivitol for their safety and well being in their private sessions. We are in need of Volunteers to sign up for Riding Instructors and Side Walkers. Please contact Shari at the office number 860.912.1557.

    06.06.2011 -- We provide Safety and Training classes for all New Volunteers WHICH include Instructors, Side Walkers, Groomers and Tackers. All Volunteers are required to take these "Safety Certification Classes". Call asap to register for our current available classes beginning Mid-July 2011. Our facility will continue to offer Certification. If you are interested in becoming a Certified Instructor the Cost for classes is $30.00 for each class for 10 weeks. Total due $300.00 at start of program. This will Certify you in "WRHF" General Instruction" by our farms safety standards.

    06.06.2011 -- If you are interested in Therapeutic Certification with "HWHTR" we also offer classes for Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors. These classes are more involved and directed toward Equine Assisted Therapy. This is a 10 week course at $50.00 per class total cost $500.00 for certification which are pivotal in the sensitive area's of Equine Assisted Therapy. Call in advance to Reserve your class time and start date. Call with any questions about available days.

If your child has limited experience with horses please make arrangements for at least 8 one hour riding lessons prior to winter camp.

    05.29.2010 -- EQUESTRIAN STUDY GROUPS - These study groups consist of discussions about "The Horse". With a variety of topics from Training, Riding, Breeding, Horsemanship, Wild Mustangs, Equine Communication and Bonding. There will be discussion topics suggested by (YOU) the student attending. Get comfy with Coffee and Tea while watching Equine Videos that consist of topics from Equine First Aid to General Horse Care. Treat yourself to a comfortable evening out at the farm from 6:00 to 7:30 on either Tuesday or Thursday evenings. Morning classes will also be available for those of you who are not able to get away in the evenings. Class prices are only $30.00. Pre-Registration is required for your study group.     03.31.2009 -- WHAT IS THERAPEUTIC RIDING -- Who would benefit from therapeutic riding? People with phychological, cognitive, emotional, stressful and social afflictions or disorders may use equine assisted activities, adapted as needed - as a recreation and leisure experience. The emphasis is on an enjoyable and relaxing experience that provides additional therapeutic benefits in the areas of socialization, posture, mobility, and an overall improved quality of life. Individuals may participate in horse-related activities to their maximum ability in an atmosphere of support, structure, and socialization for the primary purpose of the intrinsic enjoyment of the activity.
